Successful candidates will have strong choral experience, possess excellent musical skills including a good level of sight-reading, and a good vocal tone that fits with the St John's sound and shows potential for development. Applications are open to altos, tenors, and basses of all genders and it is not a requirement to have studied at the University of Cambridge.

Closing date: Monday, February 2, 2026.
Auditions: Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15, between 9.30am and 4.30pm (approximately)
Audition status notification: Friday, February 6, 2026.
**Application requirements: **CV, and covering letter containing an unlisted YouTube link to a recent recording of one classical piece.
Position type: Part-time, as required for Chapel Services, Choir activities, and special events.
**Remuneration: **£13, 210 per annum, with additional benefits including singing lessons, a fund of £600 for musical development, masterclasses, and mentoring sessions.
Candidate Criteria: Significant choral experience, excellent musical skills, good sight-reading ability, and vocal tone compatible with the St John's sound.
Eligibility: Open to all genders; previous attendance at the University of Cambridge not required. International travel is required so successful applicants must have a valid passport and GHIC/EHIC card.
**Contract Type: **One-year fixed-term contract.
Hours: Approximately 15 hours over 6 or 7 days per week during University of Cambridge term time. Additional hours are required outside of term time for recordings, tours, concerts, and other Choir activities as needed.

Applicants appointed to the posts will be required to work alongside the Choristers and Probationers of St John’s College Choir.
